Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms
By using The Neighbor List websites, directory, deals, community features, referral features, accounts, portals, or related services, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the platform.
2. About The Neighbor List
The Neighbor List is a local platform designed to help neighbors discover and connect with local businesses, deals, community information, and related services.
The Neighbor List may provide directories, business profiles, deals, referral features, advertising, community resources, and other tools.
3. Neighbor Accounts
Users may create an account to access features such as saving businesses or deals, sharing businesses or deals, referral features, and other Neighbor features.
Users are responsible for providing accurate information and maintaining the security of their account, including their password and any activity that occurs under their account.
4. Business Accounts, Listings and Claims
Businesses may apply to be listed, claim an existing listing, manage business information, submit deals, advertise, and access other business features when available.
Claiming a business does not automatically guarantee approval or control of a listing. The Neighbor List may take reasonable steps to verify that someone is authorized to represent a business.
The Neighbor List may correct, reject, suspend, unpublish, or remove business information that is inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, inappropriate, outdated, or violates these Terms.
5. Business Directory Information
Business information may be provided by business owners or representatives, collected from publicly available sources, or otherwise submitted to The Neighbor List. While reasonable efforts may be made to maintain useful and accurate information, The Neighbor List does not guarantee that every listing, description, service, operating hour, price, credential, availability, or other business detail is complete or current.
6. Deals, Coupons and Offers
Participating businesses are responsible for the deals, discounts, coupons, promotions, terms, restrictions, availability, expiration dates, and fulfillment of their offers.
The Neighbor List may display or distribute these offers but is not responsible for a participating business's failure to honor an offer. Deals may be changed, discontinued, or become unavailable.
8. Local Businesses and Service Providers
The Neighbor List is a platform that helps people discover and connect with independent local businesses and service providers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, businesses listed or referred through The Neighbor List are independent businesses and are not employees, agents, partners, or contractors of The Neighbor List.
Users are responsible for deciding whether a particular business or service provider is appropriate for their needs. The Neighbor List does not perform the services offered by independent businesses and is not a party to agreements entered into directly between a customer and a business unless expressly stated otherwise.
The Neighbor List does not represent that every business is licensed, insured, background checked, vetted, verified, or guaranteed. Users should independently evaluate a business before hiring or purchasing.
9. Reviews and User-Submitted Content
Users may be able to submit reviews, comments, recommendations, photos, or other content. Users must submit truthful content based on their genuine experience and may not submit fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, unlawful, spam, impersonating, or intentionally misleading content.
The Neighbor List may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms or platform standards.
10. Advertising and Paid Business Services
The Neighbor List may offer paid advertising, enhanced listings, direct-mail advertising, featured placement, analytics, or other paid business services. Specific pricing, placement, duration, availability, cancellation terms, production requirements, or other conditions may be presented separately when a business purchases a service.
Purchasing advertising does not guarantee a particular number of leads, calls, sales, customers, or revenue.
11. Payments
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors and may be subject to additional payment terms presented at checkout.
12. Acceptable Use
Users may not misuse the platform. Prohibited conduct includes:
- Attempting unauthorized access to the platform or its systems
- Interfering with the operation of the service
- Submitting fraudulent information
- Impersonating others
- Scraping or harvesting data in an abusive or unauthorized manner
- Manipulating referral activity
- Distributing malicious software
- Using the service for unlawful purposes
13. Intellectual Property
The Neighbor List branding, site design, original content, software, graphics, and other proprietary materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Businesses retain responsibility for and appropriate rights to logos, photographs, descriptions, advertisements, offers, and other materials they submit. By submitting materials for publication or advertising, the business grants The Neighbor List permission to use those materials as reasonably necessary to display, promote, distribute, and provide the requested services.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
The platform may link to business websites, social media pages, maps, payment providers, and other third-party services. The Neighbor List does not control those third-party services and their own terms and policies apply.
15. Availability and Changes to the Service
Features may be added, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Uninterrupted availability of the platform cannot be guaranteed.
16. Disclaimers
Information on The Neighbor List is provided for general informational and discovery purposes. Users should independently evaluate businesses and services before hiring or purchasing. The Neighbor List does not warrant that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Neighbor List is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from use of the platform or from transactions and interactions between users and independent businesses.
18. Suspension or Termination
Accounts, listings, content, or access may be suspended or terminated for fraud, abuse, violations of these Terms, security concerns, unlawful conduct, or misuse of the platform.
19. Privacy
Use of personal information is described in The Neighbor List Privacy Policy.
20. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically. When appropriate, the effective date will be updated to reflect the most current version.
21. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the State of South Carolina.
